Traverse the entire length of the 92-mile restricted-access Park Road and bask in the ample opportunity for wildlife viewing and sightseeing Denali's most iconic landmarks. Join our experienced driver guides as they keep you on the lookout for signature Alaskan wildlife like bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and more as you venture deep into Kantishna, the heart of Denali National Park.

Try your luck at traditional gold panning in the tumbling waters of Moose Creek, stand in awe of the majestic peak of Mt. McKinley and enjoy a hearty lunch buffet at the exclusive Denali Backcountry Lodge. Stroll the serene shores of Wonder Lake and take in the stunning beauty of the Park. 6:00 AM Board at Denali Cabins, Mile 229, George Parks Highway
6:10 - 6:30 AM Pick-up from area hotels in Denali Canyon & begin your Denali Backcountry Adventure
12:30 PM* Lunch and activities included at Denali Backcountry Lodge
2:30 PM Depart for return trip, continue searching for wildlife
7:30 PM* Return to Park entrance and Denali Canyon area

Getting Here

The Denali Backcountry Adventure departs from the Denali Cabins located at Mile 229 on the George Parks Highway just eight miles south of the Denali National Park entrance.
GPS Coordinates: 
Driving here in a car with GPS? Enter the following coordinates into your GPS unit: Latitude 63°38'03.0"N and Longitude 148°47'13.3"W.
Driving from Fairbanks, head south on the AK-3 ramp towards Anchorage. Continue for 0.5 miles and merge onto the A4 E/AK-3 N/Interstate A4. Travel on the George Parks Highway for 126 miles.
